Throwback to March 2026, when delegates of the African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) enjoyed a remarkable experience of culture, nature, adventure, and hospitality at La Campagne Tropicana River Forest and Beach Resort.

The memorable visit began on March 6th 2026, as the delegates arrived in grand style through the resort’s boat cruise experience. Wearing life jackets and accompanied by a trained tour guide, the guests journeyed through the waterways before arriving at the resort.

On arrival, they received a warm African welcome from the very popular ATunda Entertainment, with full vibes of traditional drumming, acrobatics, dance, and indigenous rhythms immediately immersed the visitors in Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

In keeping with age-old African hospitality traditions, members of the resort’s hospitality team welcomed the guests with fresh palm wine, while chilled coconut water and delicious local delicacies were served beneath swaying palm trees overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, creating a perfect atmosphere of relaxation after the boat ride.

The experience continued the following morning with one of the resort’s most distinctive attraction, a breakfast gathering deep within the forest at the Founder’s Camp Site.

The location holds special significance as the very place where the resort’s founder, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, reportedly camped at the age of 26 while nurturing the vision that would eventually become one of Nigeria’s leading eco-tourism destinations.

Beautifully decorated with colourful Ankara-themed seating and rustic wooden furniture that blended naturally with the forest surroundings, the breakfast setting reflected the perfect harmony between culture and nature.

As chefs prepared an impressive buffet, ATunda Entertainment once again filled the air with cool and fully bloomed traditional music, creating a lively yet peaceful atmosphere beside the calm lagoon.

Surrounded by towering green trees and graceful white mangroves stretching toward the still waters, the delegates enjoyed an uncommon dining experience where the soothing sounds of nature complemented every moment. The forest breakfast revealed La Campagne Tropicana’s unique ability to combine eco-tourism, cultural heritage, and luxury hospitality into one unforgettable experience.

Beyond relaxation, the delegates also participated in exciting team-building activities designed to strengthen collaboration. Hosted by the resort’s Hospitality and Activities Department, the interactive session featured balloon games, relay races, blindfold challenges, and other engaging exercises that encouraged teamwork, trust, and communication.

The serene environment provided the perfect atmosphere for colleagues who had spent previous days engaged in intensive business sessions to unwind while building stronger professional relationships.

As their stay drew to a close, the resort organized a colourful Karaoke Night to celebrate the final evening of the delegates’ visit.

Hosted by members of the entertainment team, Blessing Okpong and Victor Andrew Otsapa, the evening featured lively games, music, laughter, and enthusiastic karaoke performances as guests sang along to their favourite songs displayed on a giant screen.

The celebration became even more magical with the lighting of a cozy bonfire, where the cool evening breeze, flickering flames, delicious meals, refreshing drinks, fresh coconut water, palm wine, and group photographs created lasting memories for everyone present.

The visit perfectly reflected La Campagne Tropicana River Forest and Beach Resort’s reputation as one of Africa’s foremost eco-tourism destinations, blending authentic African culture, natural beauty, recreation, and world-class hospitality.

Africa Re, officially known as the African Reinsurance Corporation, is Africa’s first continental reinsurance company.
