Fresh preparations are underway as Corporate Guards Limited advances plans to strengthen its operational presence, with physical work now beginning at a new facility expected to support the company’s next phase of operations.
The latest development follows a fresh move by the company’s founder, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, to advance preparations for the new operational office, with the company’s core captains confirming that work has commenced at the facility.
According to the captains, painting, electrical arrangements and carpentry work have now kicked off as part of efforts to get the facility ready for operations.
The development comes ahead of the company’s planned official launch of the new operational office in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, on August 10, 2026.
The move represents an expansion of Corporate Guards’ operational structure beyond its established Lagos presence and is expected to position the company closer to organisations operating within Sango-Ota and neighbouring areas.
Speaking on the development, Captain Gerald Ugwo, one of the company’s officers responsible for training and monitoring staff welfare, had explained that the choice of the location was deliberate.
He added that the area has a significant concentration of established organisations, creating opportunities for Corporate Guards to strengthen existing relationships while reaching more organisations that may require professionally trained security personnel.
Corporate Guards already has personnel operating at organisations including Indomie and FCMB, while the company is looking forward to securing further patronage from standard organisations within the area and beyond.
The new operational office is expected to support the recruitment of Corporate Guards personnel, monitoring of deployed guards and supervision of security operations, with the objective of maintaining the standards required by client organisations.
Ugwo had also pointed to the company’s operational structure at Lekki Phase 1, 24A Shakiru Anjorin Street, where recruitment, monitoring and personnel management remain important aspects of its activities.
The new facility should, however, not be confused with Corporate Guards’ presence in Abeokuta.
The company has two FCMB locations in Abeokuta, but these are client locations where its personnel operate and are not operational offices of Corporate Guards Limited.
The latest expansion also provides Corporate Guards with an opportunity to promote the professional reputation that has historically distinguished the company.
A notable record of that reputation is contained in a June 4, 2001 endorsement from Jack Sims, Mayor of District Heights, Maryland, United States, following the visit of members of the National Conference of Black Mayors delegation to Nigeria for the Black Heritage Festival in Badagry.
After encountering Corporate Guards personnel during the delegation’s activities in Lagos, Sims commended the company for the quality of its security services.
The personnel were described as highly trained and educated, well-mannered and disciplined, with the mayor also highlighting their professionalism and human-relations skills.
Their approach to crowd control particularly stood out, as they reportedly managed crowds quietly and smoothly without shouting or unnecessary physical contact.
The mayor subsequently stated that he would personally recommend Corporate Guards for events and planned VIP visits in Nigeria or anywhere in the world, describing the company as “the future of security” and saying it would “set the standards.”
That historical recognition remains a reference point as Corporate Guards continues to recruit and train personnel and seeks to strengthen the confidence of organisations in its services.
For organisations, corporate bodies, financial institutions, factories, estates, event organisers and other establishments looking for professionally trained security personnel, the company’s expanding operational structure presents an opportunity to engage Corporate Guards for recruitment, deployment and security management.
