An inspiring story shared by the CEO of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, has continued to motivate many young creatives.
He spoke about a filmmaker who once lived a comfortable life in Europe.
The man was doing very well financially but deep inside, he wanted something different.
He wanted to become a filmmaker and tell stories.
So, he made a bold decision.
He left his job in Europe, gave up his steady income, and moved to Nigeria to follow his dream in filmmaking.
When he arrived in Lagos, he did not choose a luxurious life.
Instead, he lived simply on Lagos Mainland in a boy quarter of the home of Otunba Wanle Akinboboye while learning and growing under his guidance.
Otunba Wanle explained that his creative space has influenced many people in the entertainment world.
Well-known actors like Norbert Young, famous actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Kunle Afolayan and a lot more have also been part of the wider creative industry that reflects his work and vision.
Over time, the filmmaker began to understand a new meaning of wealth.
He learned that real wealth is not just money, but doing what you love and feeling fulfilled.
This change in mindset helped him grow as a creator.
He worked on creative projects connected to the stage production Odigbose, which he later expanded into a project called So Long, and it became a screenplay.
Otunba Wanle also told creatives that following your passion is not easy at the start.
It can be uncomfortable and difficult, but it is worth it.
He said, “Following your passion is not easy. You must be patient and strong. The beginning is always the hardest part.”
