Translation

It is in the presence of a lazy person that the corn matures and ripens.

Moral

Time progresses relentlessly, and opportunities do not wait for anyone. The lazy person watches the seasons pass without taking meaningful action, only to realise belatedly that the time for harvest and prosperity has come and gone.

Like the corn that matures in the presence of an idle observer, opportunities will continue to unfold whether or not we are prepared to seize them. This is a timeless admonition against procrastination, indolence and the danger of leaving until tomorrow what ought to be done today.
