History was made in Itan’la, Ondo City, as the world witnessed the first-ever Cave Carnival, held during the 2026 Asun Carnival at La Campagne Tropicana Forest Hills and Caves Resort.

While carnivals are celebrated across continents, bringing together culture, music, dance and colourful displays, a carnival staged inside a natural cave offers an entirely different experience…one never before seen on such a scale.
Guests were welcomed through the cave’s entrance, illuminated with striking blue and red lights that created an atmosphere of mystery and wonder.
As visitors stepped inside, the naturally cool air flowing through the cave blended with the sounds of traditional music, beneath nature’s magnificent rock formations.
Surrounded by towering stones that have rested upon one another for centuries, the cave provided a natural amphitheatre.
Carnival performers dazzled spectators as they paraded through the cave in colourful costumes, elaborate wings, decorative hats and vibrant cultural attire.
Under glowing lights that reflected beautifully across the ancient rock walls, the performers brought the cave to life with music, dance and artistic displays.
The event was attended by the Founder of La Campagne Tropicana, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, alongside distinguished guests who watched in admiration as history unfolded in one of Nigeria’s most unique tourism destinations.
The magical atmosphere created by the cave’s natural ambience, its refreshing coolness and the captivating performances by ATunda Entertainment combined to give an experience unlike any other, leaving guests with memories that will last a lifetime.
Held within the magnificent caves of La Campagne Tropicana Forest Hills and Caves Resort during the 2026 Asun Carnival, the Cave Carnival has opened a new chapter in cultural tourism, one that could redefine how the world experiences carnivals.
If sustained, this remarkable innovation may become one of Nigeria’s most distinctive cultural tourism attractions and position Itan’la, Ondo City, on the global tourism map.
