It’s officially summer. That time of year that brings with it the feeling of relaxation. Summer presents an opportunity to unwind from the daily school runs and demands attached with it. As parents, one finds themselves going early to bed and awaking early. All of these hustle and bustle are temporarily forgotten when summer arrives.
Research has shown that children look forward to the summer holidays because it offers them an opportunity to rejunate, make new friends, create new memories with their siblings, and above all learn new positive knowledge which can’t be found within the four walls of a school setting.
Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, the Visioner of La Campagne Tropicana Beach and Forest resort had children in mind when developing the resort. His love for children has seen him curate educational events which not only widens their horizons but also develops and expand their imagination.
For this year summer, Kamp Afrika is Otunba Olawanle’s initiative to foster an environment of learning, fun, and connection for the development of kids. The idea of Kamp Afrika is laid on the believe that kids can acquire new knowledge while also relaxing.
Kamp Afrika is a pan African camp for 10 – 16-year-old. Participants are exposed to African culture and norms through adventure, storytelling, arts, and craft in Eco-friendly African themed forest, River and Beach resort.
Upon arrival the children are taken on a tour of La Campagne Tropicana where they get to see firsthand nature like never before. “Nature like never before” is not just hype. Why? Kids on summer visit to La Campagne Tropicana for Kamp Afrika get to experience in its true unadulterated form.
The birds chirp in the forest singing in harmony to welcome the kids. The monkeys in the forest bears warmth that fills the kids with wonder rather than fear. What about the Horses? The calm animal’s whimps brings delight to the heart of the kids. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
The Camel is so friendly every kid would want to ride. Let’s not even talk about the crabs and cows. Away from the wonderful animals, the kids get to experience the beautiful playground at the beachfront where they can bring their imagination to live by designing and building sandcastles. They also get to learn how to swim at the longest swimming pool in an African resort.
The lovely experience doesn’t stop there the children the opportunity to acquire knowledge on the art of storytelling, stage plays, and poetry. The skills required to create melodious sounds through the use of African instruments are also passed on to interested kids. They are also taught on African culinary and cuisines.
To top it all, the kids are taken on a carefully guided tour of the beach front, and river. Children interested in learning how to swim are also given the opportunity to. Delightful stage plays are showcased for the kids to learn from and have fun with.
