The Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) on Friday paid a courtesy visit to La Campagne Tropicana Forest, River & Beach Resort, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, in a move aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration and deepening engagement with Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality industry.

In a letter dated October 29, 2026, and addressed to the Founder of La Campagne Tropicana, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, the committee said the visit was designed to familiarise its members with the resort’s facilities, operations and hospitality offerings.

The visit also provided a platform for discussions, knowledge exchange and the identification of potential areas of mutual interest between the committee and the resort.

Upon arrival, the committee members were received with captivating African musical performances by Atunda Entertainers, whose traditional rhythms and melodies set the tone for what would become an eventful day of hospitality, cultural expression and relaxation.

One of the major highlights of the visit was a lunch experience at the Founder’s Camp, where the visitors had an opportunity to learn about the vision, determination and personal sacrifices behind the establishment of La Campagne Tropicana.

It was at the camp that members received first-hand accounts of how Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye left the comfort of the city and ventured into the forest to establish what is described as Africa’s first African-themed forest, river and beach resort.

Beyond the historical accounts, the natural environment offered the visitors an opportunity to experience the resort’s distinctive blend of nature, culture and hospitality.

With towering trees providing natural canopies against the afternoon sun, the riverside setting created a relaxing atmosphere for the guests. The kitchen and hospitality team complemented the experience with a sumptuous meal, including pounded yam, which was served to the visitors.

The energetic performances of Atunda Entertainers soon transformed the gathering into a celebration, with members of the committee joining in the dancing and merriment. The music cut across cultural and linguistic boundaries, drawing from different African musical traditions and demonstrating the unifying power of culture.

From the sounds of Igbo music to other traditional African rhythms, the entertainment created an atmosphere in which professional titles and formalities gave way to shared enjoyment.

The excitement of the afternoon was evident in the visitors’ response as they settled down for lunch.

“Thank you very much. We enjoyed it,” one of the guests remarked, expressing appreciation for the hospitality extended to the delegation.

The visit offered the NBA-SBL committee more than an opportunity to tour a hospitality destination. It provided a closer look at the vision, history and operational philosophy behind La Campagne Tropicana, while opening conversations around the role of legal professionals and the business community in advancing tourism development in Nigeria.
