Ekiti State marks 30 years of its creation with the Ekiti 30th Future Summit, themed Celebrating the Past, Creating the Future. Created on October 1, 1996, during the administration of General Sani Abacha, Ekiti State was carved out of the old Ondo State and began its journey with 16 Local Government Areas.
Three decades later, the anniversary brought together government officials, traditional rulers, young people, professionals, academics, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to reflect on Ekiti’s journey and discuss the opportunities and choices that will shape the next 30 years.
